Victoria Lizbeth Chavez - Third Honor Student Daughter to Juan and Edna Chavez, Victoria Chavez is the third honor graduate of the class of 2024. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching horror movies.Victoria has been a member of the San Benito High School Marching Band and the San Benito Indoor percussion ensemble since her freshman year. Throughout her highschool career, she was a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Leo Club and Young Life. She also earned a spot in the 2023-2024 All Region Percussion Ensemble. She is also a finalist in the Gates scholarship and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.Victoria plans to attend an in-state university and major with a PhD in Counseling Psychology.Solanii Anafey Jasso - Fourth Honor Student Solanii Jasso is the daughter of Daisy Jasso and Alex Balli. She is a recipient of the Superintendent%u2019s Hi-5 Award. She holds leadership positions with the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and the Speech Club. She is also a member of the Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society, and El Sol Maya Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica. Additionally, she is involved in various extracurriculars and is a state qualifier with both FCCLA and SkillsUSA. She has been involved in music her entire life and currently participates in the band program, where she has been a member of the Region 28 band for the past 4 years and a UIL Band Solo & Ensemble State Qualifier for the past 3 years. Solanii will graduate from Texas Southmost College Magna Cum Laude with an Associate%u2019s Degree in General Studies with 74 college credit hours. She has been named a College Board National Hispanic Scholar and a College Board AP Scholar. Solanii is active in her community as a choir member at St. Theresa Catholic Church and a long-time volunteer at the RGV Humane Society. Miss Jasso plans to attend Louisiana State University to pursue a bachelor%u2019s degree in Biological Sciences which she plans to use to go to graduate school to become a Pediatric Psychiatrist. She would like to thank her family for their continued love and support in everything she does.Nathan Ryan Hernandez - Fifth Honor Student Nathan Ryan Hernandez is the son of Randy and Elizabeth Hernandez. Throughout his high school career, he has been able to accumulate a variety of awards and academic achievements. Naming a few accomplishments include the following: Fifth Honor Student of his graduating class, a recipient of the Hi-5 Superintendent%u2019s List, Hispanic Scholar Funds finalist, Champ of Champions recipient and he is obtaining an associates degree in general studies from Texas Southmost College before he graduates high school. In addition to these academic achievements, he is involved in numerous extracurricular activities and organizations as well as holding officer positions. Some include FFA Secretary, NHS Parliamentarian, Rho Kappa member, NSHS member, and Class Officer. He is planning to attend Texas A&M-Kingsville to further his education to major in the Business of Agriculture or in Engineering. After he is done with college, he is aspiring to bring back his knowledge to the Valley and help it grow.
