Sergio Garcia | KSBG TV

  • Sergio Garcia serves as KSBG-TV 17's Television Media Coordinator. He began his service with San Benito CISD's educational television station in 1998, where he worked on all audio/video related aspects for over a 10-year period. Garcia spent seven years as an educator, where he acquired Avid Certified Instructor (ACI) status from Avid, the industry leader in professional editing. This certification afforded San Benito CISD the opportunity to become a learning partner with Avid to authorize and certify high school students to obtain their certification before graduation.

    In his current role, Garcia assists Interim Director of Communications Luis Gonzales in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the television station. Working alongside Gonzales and members of the KSBG team, Garcia produces shows that highlight and promote the students and staff of San Benito CISD.

David Cortez | KSBG TV

  • David Cortez is a San Benito High School Class of 1990 graduate. He has been employed with San Benito CISD since August of 2008. Cortez has been in the television broadcast industry since 1991, working locally in the Houston area with the CBS, ABC and the PBS affiliate. Cortez, KSBG-TV 17's Lead Technician, has experience in graphics, video shooting and editing and all aspects related to audio.

Maria Guajardo | Public Relations

  • Maria Guajardo began her service with the District as a Social Media / Communications Specialist in May 2023. Maria is a U.S. Army veteran, a San Benito H.S. alumnae, and she holds a Bachelors of Communications with a Minor in Marketing from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. When she’s not celebrating and shining the spotlight on our wonderful students and staff, she can be found training the next wave of world changing influencers or hosting the family cookouts.

Mara Martinez | Public Relations

  • Before joining San Benito CISD as the Public Relations department secretary, Mara Martinez worked for 24 years at a medical office specializing in podiatry. She was the office manager for the last 22 years there until the specialist she worked for retired. Mara graduated from North Dallas High School and received excellence education and training from her office vocational teacher. She, her husband and their three boys all live in San Benito and are proud Gryhounds!

Dulce Quiroz | Public Relations

  • Dulce Quiroz began her employment with San Benito CISD as the district's webmaster on a part-time basis with the district's Technology Department in 1998. She received her Associate of Applied Science degree in Digital Imaging Technology (Computer Graphics and Web Design) from Texas State Technical College.

    In 2003 she became a full-time employee with the Technology Department. Since June 2013, Quiroz has been a welcome addition to the Community Relations/KSBG-TV Department, where she has continued her duties as the district's webmaster and taken on additional duties related to television production.
